In an effort to slow down speeders, the city's police department recently installed an electronic speed indicator sign to remind driver's how fast they are traveling.
The sign is located on Main Street near the Stop & Shop at Route 6 where the speed limit drops from 25 mph to 15 mph.
Peekskill Chief Donald Halmy said in a video that just seeing the sign helps motorists realize how fast they are driving.
The signs were installed to keep the downtown area safe for seniors, children, and the many visitors.
